Speaker: Dr. Jeffrey Tate

jeffJeffrey Tate is the “church planter” of the Unitarian Universalists of Benton County.  He has been a UU since the 1980s. He has served on the governing boards of the UU Fellowship of Fayetteville and the UU Fellowship of Benton County.  He is an ordained Humanist minister, graduated from the Humanist Institute in New York, where he has since served as teaching faculty.  He has a BA in Biology, an  MA in European Philosophy and  an MD from Emory University. He is a board-certified psychiatrist and psychoanalyst, and has been on the clinical teaching faculty of the Houston Center for Psychoanalytic Studies, Baylor University, the University of Texas, and the University of Arkansas. He maintains an active clinical practice in Rogers, Arkansas. He is also a practitioner of insight (vipassana) meditation. He and Ellen have been married since 1974; they have a son, a daughter and two grandchildren.
