Our theme this this month is ‘Resistance.’ It’s been an opportunity to explore individual and community level experiences of resistance. For those new or not aware of our monthly themes, over the last year and a half we’ve joined with other UU congregations across the country that sharing in these common topics and exploring how this theme plays a part in our lives, our congregation’s life and in the broader society.
On resistance, it’s tempting to jump to the ‘protest-type’ of resistance, the ‘speaking truth to power’ images of resistance. The resistance where we effectively challenge injustice, defending what is right. For this Sunday, we’ll look inward. What do you resist?Come anytime between 10:30-11:00 a.m. for coffee and and socializing or stay after the service!
Sunday School is available for children with a Unitarian Universalist adaptation of Jerome Berryman’s book, “Spirit Play” as the primary resource. We structure the morning based on the Montessori approach. As in Montessori, the key elements are the classroom environment and the teachers. These elements free the children to work at their own pace on their own activities after an initial lesson.
